Crane Quote Comparison Tool

Crane Quote Comparison Tool

Compare up to three crane-rental quotes using the same project assumptions. Enter each provider’s hourly rate, minimum hours, mobilization, travel, setup, rigging, permit or traffic-control charges and other quoted costs.

The tool compares the numbers you enter. It does not determine which provider is safest, most qualified or most appropriate for the project. Equipment suitability, qualifications, scope and contractual terms still need to be reviewed separately.

Why Compare the Total Quote Instead of Only the Hourly Rate?

A lower hourly rate can still produce a higher project total when the quote includes a longer minimum billing period, separate mobilization, travel, setup, rigging or other charges. Comparing each quote using the same expected working time makes those differences easier to see.

What Should Be Consistent Across the Quotes?

For a meaningful comparison, each provider should be quoting the same project scope and lift information. Use the same load weight, working radius, required height, site conditions, requested date and expected responsibilities when requesting each quote.

The Crane Rental Quote Builder can generate one project brief that you send to each provider.

Price Is Only One Part of a Crane Quote

This tool identifies the lowest estimated total from the numbers entered, but that does not establish that the quote is the right choice for the project. The written proposal should also be reviewed for equipment, operator qualifications, insurance requirements, included services, exclusions, availability, cancellation terms and other project-specific responsibilities.

Common Crane Quote Items to Clarify

  • Minimum billable hours
  • Whether the quoted hourly rate includes the operator
  • Mobilization, delivery and return travel
  • Portal-to-portal billing
  • Setup and teardown
  • Rigging equipment and rigging personnel
  • Additional personnel
  • Permits or traffic control
  • Overtime, weekend or short-notice charges
  • Cancellation or standby terms

Crane Quote Comparison FAQ

Does the lowest hourly rate mean the lowest crane rental cost?

No. Minimum hours, mobilization, travel, setup, rigging and other charges can change the total project cost.

Does this tool recommend a crane company?

No. It compares the pricing and scope information you enter. Provider qualifications, equipment suitability, availability and contractual terms must be evaluated separately.

What if one quote includes rigging and another does not?

Mark the scope accordingly and obtain clarification before relying on the totals. Quotes are easiest to compare when each one covers the same project responsibilities.

Where can I estimate a single crane quote?

Use the Crane Rental Cost Calculator for a detailed estimate of one quote.

Need Comparable Quotes?

Start by creating one consistent project description, then send the same lift information to each provider you are considering.
