Crane Rental Quote Builder
Build a clean crane-rental project brief before requesting quotes. Enter the project details you know, and the tool will generate a copyable summary you can send to a crane provider or paste into an enquiry form.
You do not need to know the exact crane type or tonnage. The most useful starting information is the load, approximate weight, project location, requested date, working radius, placement height, access and setup conditions.

Your Crane Rental Project Brief
What Information Does a Crane Company Need for a Quote?
The most useful quote requests describe the actual lift rather than simply asking for a crane by tonnage.
- Jobsite location
- Requested date
- What is being lifted
- Approximate load weight and dimensions
- Pickup and placement positions
- Horizontal reach or working radius
- Required placement height
- Available setup area
- Street or site access
- Ground or pavement conditions
- Known obstructions
- Operator and rigging requirements if known
Why Photos and Measurements Help
Site photos, plans and equipment specifications can make the initial project description more useful. Helpful photos can include the proposed crane setup area, access route, load, final placement point and major obstructions between the crane and the lift.
If dimensions or distances are estimates, identify them as estimates rather than presenting them as exact measurements.
You Do Not Need to Guess the Crane Size
A provider can evaluate the project more effectively when you provide the load and geometry rather than guessing a crane tonnage. Crane capacity changes with working radius, boom configuration and the specific load chart.
Use the Crane Size & Reach Calculator to organize basic project geometry, or read What Size Crane Do I Need? for more detail.
Compare Quotes More Easily
Sending the same project brief to each provider makes quote comparison easier because each company receives the same starting information.
When quotes arrive, use the Crane Rental Cost Calculator to compare minimum hours, hourly charges, mobilization, travel, setup, rigging and other costs.
Crane Rental Quote Builder FAQ
Do I need to know the crane tonnage before requesting a quote?
No. Provide the load, approximate weight, radius, height, location and site conditions. The crane provider should determine the appropriate equipment from the actual project requirements.
What if I do not know the load weight?
Leave it unknown rather than guessing. Manufacturer specifications, equipment documentation, delivery records or the supplier may be able to provide the weight.
Should I send photos with a crane quote request?
Photos can be useful for showing access, the potential crane setup area, the load, placement point and obstructions. They do not replace a provider’s site review where one is required.
Can I use this project brief with any crane company?
Yes. The output is simply a project-information summary. You can copy it into an email, message or quote form for any provider.
Ready to Request Crane Rental Options?
Once the project brief is complete, you can paste it into our crane-rental enquiry form or send it directly to the provider you are considering.
